something happens after you graduate high school... you stop getting your portrait taken.

there are of course exceptions: weddings (that doesn't really count though), the ever so popular drivers licence and passport photo shoots... perhaps you received a headshot on your latest work badge...

with the onset of consumer digital cameras that continue to get better and cheaper and facebook as a medium to display those images.. most people think, why bother hiring a professional?

i totally understand that, however, I have to say something magical happens when my subjects get their hair and make up styled professionally and they step onto the set for the first time.  It's as if they are transformed into new people. 

this weekend paola hired me for no other reason than she just wanted to do something nice for herself and have her portrait taken.  the two of us came up with a couple of concepts prior to our shoot and she too stepped onto the set looking and feeling like a million bucks. 

with the combined efforts of a beautiful and willing subject, good hair and make up styling and pretty lighting we ended the day creating some really awesome images and experiences.  so... when was the last time you had your portrait taken?
